2007-2008 WYOMING RECREATION AND PARKS ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP
WRPA is a non-profit association comprised of individuals and agencies involved in the field of Parks and Recreation as professionals, volunteers, advocates and vendors.
Mission: To provide professional support in promoting quality parks and recreation service through education and leadership
Affiliation: WRPA is a state affiliate of the National Recreation and Parks Association
Organization: WRPA is governed by member elected officers and directors.
Opportunities: Improved services through sharing Continuing education Issue, idea and product awareness WRPA programs and leadership positions Professional Certification
Benefits: FOCUS : This semi-annual WRPA publication is mailed to all members. FOCUS features timely articles and news from around the state and country.
CONFERENCE: WRPA convenes an annual conference and training institute hosted by communities on a rotating basis. These meetings provide for continuing education and an opportunity to learn from and get to know other members involved in the profession.
WORKSHOPS: WRPA offers workshops on timely issues based on member input.
PROGRAMS: Professional Certification, NAYS (National Alliance for Youth Sports), Pepsi Pitch, Hit and Run, and Hershey Track and Field are some of the programs members may participate in.
COMMITTEES: WRPA maintains working committees to address numerous activities and interests that include: Workshops, Legislation, Awards, Budget, Membership, Certification, Conference, Scholarship, etc.
SECTIONS: Current special interest sections include Aquatics, Golf and Sports
