Kids in Green River have a great opportunity to learn and participate in the game of golf for free through the Hook A Kid on Golf Program administered by the National Alliance of Youth Sports. The Green River Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Rolling Green Country Club offers a Tee Level Clinic for youngsters age 8-13 with little or no previous golf experience. Each child in the Tee Level Clinic is provided with ten hours of instruction by the Rolling Green golf pro and his staff, a set of starter clubs with bag, a hat, and golf shirt all for free! Throughout the clinic, contests are conducted to keep the learning fun. The last day of the clinic is concluded with contests and a pizza party. Costs for the program are offset through a grant from the United States Golf Association and sponsorships donated by local businesses.
