July 2021 WRPA Board Changes

WRPA Members,

As Past President of the WRPA, I am writing to inform you of recent changes made to the WRPA Board.

On Thursday, July 15, Desiree Crosier submitted her resignation as WRPA President to the board, which was effective immediately.

An emergency WRPA Board meeting was held Monday, July 19.  At this meeting, Katie Blood, from Green River, was appointed as the new President. Amber Anderson, from Pinedale, was appointed as the new Secretary, which was Katie’s former position on the board.  Amber’s general board member position will remain vacant, as it will be open for election at conference this September.

The board also voted to extend Katie Blood’s term to September 2023, so that she has a full two years to be President.  They also voted to extend my term as Past President for another year, to allow time for me work with Katie in her new role as President.  The President-Elect position will be placed back on the ballot at the September 2022 conference.

The board also appointed Sherry Schumacher as the Acting Awards committee chair, to replace Rachelle Points, who also has recently resigned her position with WRPA. You will see awards information coming from Sherry very soon.

We congratulate Katie and Amber on their new positions, and encourage you to support them with their new responsibilities.  We would also like to thank Sherry for being the Awards Chairman once again.  We also thank Desiree and Rachelle for their service, and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

We all look forward to seeing you at conference in Evanston in September.

Sincerely,

Brad Hatch, Past President

Wyoming Recreation & Parks Association
